John Tleel was born in Jerusalem in 1928. His family, according to the convent archives, has lived in the city since 1650. Nearly a century of history passed through him — wars, partitions, transformations — and he witnessed all of it from the same streets, the same stones. He wrote a book called I Am Jerusalem — a title that says everything about the way he understood his relationship to the city. Every minute in Jerusalem is a special minute, he said. It gives you a new life, makes you a new person. He spent his life writing that down, so it would not disappear.
A quiet note when a new film is released. Nothing else.
