Chanchal Banga was born in India and has lived in Israel for over twenty years. Two worlds, two homes — two centres of gravity that still pull at him. In his paintings, deer and hybrid creatures carry fragments of India across borders: colours, smells, mythology, the dreams that shaped his childhood. His creatures are fragmented, stitched together from different parts and different memories. Every painting is, in his words, a small prayer — that beauty can survive change, that identity can stay alive, that even when we feel lost, we can still transform.
A quiet note when a new film is released. Nothing else.
